Summary
It's the Fourth of July in Forest Peak, California. Sheriff Danielle "Danny" Adelman is a troubled war veteran, with all the problems she can handle until her kid sister runs away from home. Then a disease stricks and hordes of panicked refugees fleeing the fall of Los Angeles swarms her small mountain community.
