See the glorious Mediterranean islands of Malta and Sicily. Malta is an island that civilizations have been coveting and conquering for centuries. Its location, smack dab in the middle of trade routes for Africa, Asia and Europe, has made this place a Mecca for world powers. Since 800 B.C. the island has changed hands from one conqueror to another, and over the centuries, has been controlled by the Phoenicians, the Carthaginians, the Romans, the Byzantine Empire, the Arabs, the Normans, the Knights of St. John, the French, the British. Don't be afraid to walk around and get a little bit lost. I mean, it's perfectly safe, and it's amazing some of the sights you're gonna see. For example, Malta's famous for its doorways, the pretty colors and especially the door knockers, bronze and all different shapes. These are fish, but the varieties are endless. Welcome to Sicily, an island just two miles off the coast of southern Italy. But to say it's Italian is not exactly correct. Sicily has its own government, its own version of the language and definitely its own way of doing things. I can't wait to show it to you. There's history, culture and incredible beauty.
